Reed Barton LaMarquise Sterling Spoon Whist Souvenir

Offered is a lovely antique sterling spoon of the Reed & Barton LaMarquise pattern.  Issued in 1895. it has an ornate design on both the front and back of the flatware piece as shown. The bowl is engraved with the word Whist and the year 1895. Commemorating a popular gentleman’s card game of the late 19th century, this is perhaps an award or souvenir from local or regional tournaments fashionable in the day

The spoon measures 5 1/4″ in length and is in excellent condition. It is stamped Bunde & Upmeyer on the back of the handle along with the maker’s hallmark. This was the name of a high end Milwaukee retailer that likely furnished the piece.
