Vintage Sterling Heathergem Pendant Necklace Edinburgh c1976

Offered is a most intriguing vintage sterling Heathergem pendant and necklace chain.  The solid abstract openwork design measures approximately 1 1/2″ x 1 3/8″ across the widest points of the freeform pattern. From Scotland, this hallmarked on the reverse side HG along with the city code for Edinburgh, sterling standard mark, and the date mark of 1976.  The necklace chain is about 21 3/4″ in length, It is marked sterling on the spring ring clasp, and silver on the heart shaped tane.

The colorful 3/8″ cabochon in the center of the pendant is made from actual heather plants.  These are harvested by hand, compressed dyed, shaped, and lacquered by hand. The jewelry piece has no condition issues. Total weight:  8.1 grams
