Antique Sterling Souvenir Spoon Spokane Paye & Baker c1900

Offered is a lovely antique sterling souvenir spoon from Spokane, Washington.  The dainty spoon has a gold washed bowl and features what a appears to be the second Monroe Street bridge built in 1889.  Constructed of steel, this one was to replace the original wooden bridge that was destroyed by fire in 1892.  This one was subsequently deemed unsafe and replaced again.  The handle of the spoon is decorated with a cattail motif.

This of a demitasse size and measures a bit more than 3 3/8″ long.  It has a scripted monogram on the reverse side of the handle and the hallmark of the Paye & Baker Manufacturing Company that made such sterling silver novelty spoons until 1920. Note the small shallow indent on the reverse side in the photo with the ballpoint pen for reference.  There are no other condition issues. Weight: 2.6 grams
