Buren Sterling Pendant Watch 12K Gold Filled Accents WORKS

Presented is a vintage Buren pendant watch. This has design elements from both the Art Deco and Retro Modern eras with the timepiece assembled in a purposely upside down positioning of the dial.  This allows it to be read appropriately when worn on a garment.  The thick sturdy watch pin  portion is silver in color and decorated with inset rhinestones. This is marked sterling on the back side as shown.  The bridge portion that connects the bar pin to the watch case is yellow gold in color as well as the watch case. This case is marked on the interior back 1/20 12K on Sterling as shown.  There is also a maker’s mark with the initials D O, and two hand incised watch maker’s service marks dating 12/51 and 6/54.

The stem wind watch movement is of the Buren brand made in Switzerland. A close up photo is provided and indicates this is a Buren Grand Prix, Seventeen 17 Jewels Unadjusted. The Swiss movement also bears the name Buren Watch Co. and additional markings as shown. The watch works, and generally keeps good time.  After running it for many days, it appears to lose about 5 minutes a 12 hour day. Upon inspection under magnification it appears that one of the rhinestones on the end of the bar pin portion is a replacement. It seems to sit a bit higher in the cup than the others. This is shown in the enlarged photo with the toothpick for reference.

This captivating jewelry piece is 2 1/4″ long and 1 1/4″ from end to end as measured across the bar pin portion. The watch case is 3/4″ on each side not including the decorative portion that holds additional rhinestones. The analog dial is silver in color and has the Buren name as illustrated. This is offered as described and shown in the  many photos provided.  Total weight of the object is 15.4 grams
