Art Deco Sterling Brooch Leaping Deer Old Mexico Mark 3.25″

Presented is a rather large and dramatic Art Deco sterling brooch.  The leaping deer was a popular animal motif during the era. The surface on the front (and back) is smooth and shiny.   This piece bears an older Mexico silver mark as shown.  From the 1940s the maker’s mark consists of an A and C in a circle, while the stamp reads Silver Made in Mexico.  The pin measures 3 1/4″ from the bent knees in the front of the animal to the end of the opposite back legs.  It is 2 1/2″ high at the tallest point. The deer’s head is turned to it’s back as it springs forward, which is a very uncommon pose.  It has been tested to confirm  This vintage jewelry piece has no condition issues, and appears to have been rarely if ever used.  Total weight:  12.8 grams
