Sterling Mechanical Money Clip Carl D. Lindstrom CDL c 1950s

Presented is an unusual sterling mechanical money clip.  Considered jewelry or a fashion accessory for a man, this bears the sterling CDL hallmark of  Carl D. Lindstrom &  Sons.  This was a California based company in business in the 1950s.  With an classic design popular in the Art Deco and Mid Century modern eras, the surface contains both textured and smooth shiny stripes.  The center frame was for a monogram that has not been used.

This measures 2″ x 15/16″ as measured across the front surface. The hinged mechanism on the back serves to hold the paper money in place. This vintage piece appears to have been rarely if ever used, and has no condition issues. Total weight:  28.9 grams
