10K Gold Bukharan Earrings Front Fastening Vintage

Offered is a very unusual pair of 10K Gold Bukharan earrings.  For pierced ears, the findings have a  hinged mechanism on the the reversed side. Inserted from the back of the earlobe, there is a trombone style clasp that fastens in the front.  Though sometimes considered Victorian jewelry, enough examples have not been found to substantiate that as fact.

Each earring measures 3/4″ in diameter across the drop, and 1 1/4″ long as measured from the top of the ear wire.  The earrings have no markings, but have been tested for gold content.  The deep red simulated ruby facets are glass.  One earring has a tiny indent on the half round ball just below the fastener. This is shown in the photo with the needle for reference.  There appears to be no other condition issues.
