Antique Sterling Souvenir Spoon Minnehaha Falls
Offered is a delightful antique sterling souvenir spoon. A finely detailed corn stalk decorates the handle. The gold washed bowl features an early rendition of the Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Originally called Brown Falls or Little Falls, it became more widely known by its present name in 1855 as a result of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s epic poem “The Song of Hiawatha”.
The sterling silver spoon bears the hallmark of Paye & Baker, who discontinued production of flatware in 1920. Best described as a master salt spoon, this is smaller than a demitasse size measuring 3 1/2″ long. This lovely piece of history has no condition issues. Total weight: 3.5 grams.
