Antique Watercolor Landscape Cove Trees

Offered is an antique watercolor landscape painting.  The view is from a cove lined with trees with a larger lake or river and hills in the background.  Reminiscent of renderings from the Hudson River Valley and the Catskills of New York, the work is framed under glass. This was removed from same to clean the glass and examine the picture for any identifying information.  This is not signed or dated.  The writing on the cardboard backing reads “Property of Mrs. Lockhart” and the name “Maude”.  The paper and boards have  darkened with age as shown, but there are rips or tears.  The paper has a rather rough surface and there are spots where the paint was skipped along the surface leaving tiny blank spots.  Two enlarged photos are provided of this.

The outside measurements of the wood frame are 14 1/8″ x 10 1/4″.  There has been a repair or mend to this frame on the bottom corner.  Both front and back views are provided.  The textured paper is still attached to the mat board and measures 10″ x 5 3/4″.  9 3/8″ x 7 1/8″ is visible from the front.  Only one of the tiny brads that hold this in place are still present.  This is as described and shown in the photographs provided.
