Fenton Iridescent Stretch Glass Bowl Blue

Offered is a lovely vintage Fenton iridescent stretch glass bowl.   Of an opaque color, the light surface rainbow coloring makes this appear blue or turquoise depending on the view.  This is a flared and cupped bowl that was often displayed on a stand.  Though made in various sizes and colors the blank appears to be of the company’s #640 line.  Though production of the genre began as early as 1917. the most popular time frame was the 1920’s.  Some colors were continued through the 1930s.

This measures 6 3/8″ in diameter across the widest point.  The opening is 5″. This bowl has a molded foot and stands 3 1/4″ high.  There are no cracks or chips, but there are a couple of swirls and straw marks consistent with the manufacturing method of the time.   This is a rather heavy substantial glass piece that weighs over 1 1/2 lbs. unpacked.  This will be double boxed for shipping.
