Carved Bakelite Clasp Buckle Art Deco

Offered is a delightful vintage carved Bakelite clasp buckle from the Art Deco era.. Used  to keep your cape or belt in place,  this has the metal findings as shown. The clip consists of a bottom layer of a light yellow  apple juice colored plastic with black elements on the top. The two piece object measures 3″ long and 1 1/4″ at the center. It is 3/8″ thick. As shown in the photo, one of the corners appears rounded. Close examination determined that this was original to the piece, consistent with the manufacturing method, and not subsequent damage. There is oxidation on the clasp as shown, but no other defects found.
