Vintage Majestic Sterling Compact Oval Shape

Offered is a vintage Majestic sterling compact.  It is oval in shape and has a raised fluted design on the cover, and ribbed decoration on the back.  The hallmark is that of the Majestic Metal Specialities Company of Moosup, Connecticut.  They also made unbranded items for use by other designer cosmetic companies.  You can see examples of these by using the links provided below this description.  The firm discontinued production in 1958.

This compact measures 3″ x 2 1/4″, and is 1/2″ thick.  It contains some of the original powder, screen, and puff.  There are no dents, dings, monograms, noted scratches, or imperfections on the beveled mirror.
