Vintage Sterling Silver Bird Brooch BRKS

Offered is a most elegant vintage sterling silver bird brooch. The cast metal pin measures 1 3/4″ in diameter and feature a flying egret or crane against a cattail plant.  It is marked sterling and BRKS on the reverse side. This piece is in the style of Scandinavian inspired  jewelry popular in the 1940s era when multiple manufacturers seened to copy designs from one another .  As was often the case, the same familiar patterns can be found with different maker’s marks. This  hallmark has been found on numerous jewelry items that appear of that style and age.  None found so far seem to have attributed the mark correctly, and we are in a better position to provide information as to what maker or manufacturer DID NOT make this i.e. Birks, Brooks, Coro, etc.

Still a lovely well crafted  sterling piece, this has no condition issues.  Total weight:  8.9 grams
